Eating healthily can triple your shopping bill!
A study has found that healthy food is 3 times more expensive than less nutritious alternatives.
Calorie wise 1000 calories of unhealthy food in the UK costs £2.5 compared to £7.49 for healthy food. Because these unhelathy, fatty food are cheaper and lead to health problems, a 'sugar tax' may be necessary.

 In 2013 a survey revealed that price was the most impprtant factor to consumers when buying food. Only a meager 9% considered nutritional value to be the most important factor.
People dont realize eating healthy is an investment. They will expend far more when the medical bills come.

Tips to Afford a Healthy Lifestyle.
- buy fruits and vegetables in season
- it's cheaper to buy frozen foods.
- buy in bulk to save money in the long run.
- look through ads
- in average, generic brands can be $1 cheaper - skip fast foods.
