Diseases and nutrition
The first
step to prevent nutrition-related chronic diseases is to fully recognize the
essential role that both diet and physical activity play in determining good
nutrition and optimal health. This is because a healthy diet can help
prevent you from several diseases. Some of the diseases you can prevent by what
you eat or don’t eat are heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, and type 2
diabetes. In fact, studies have shown that eating healthy is your best defense
against diabetes. (Defeat Diabetes Foundation)
One of the
biggest issues is that modern medicine is more focused on finding and fixing
symptoms and indicators instead of the disease itself. They do not focus on the
real problem; they focus on fixing high cholesterol, high blood pressure... We
should, instead, aim to make the system as healthy as possible, so it doesn’t
produce symptoms in the first placeIf we achieve that, not only will we fix the
real problem but a healthy body just makes you feel better than a medicated one.
